Veteran who was second in this race 12 months ago (also second in 2022 Silver Cup). A runner-up effort at York in June shows he's still pretty useful and a recent outing at Haydock after a short break should have put him spot on for this.

Winless since debut back in spring 2024 but has shaped well when runner-up on 2 of his last 3 starts, leaving impression this return to a bare 6f may suit at Doncaster (6.5f) last Sunday. Yard won this last year with Winged Messenger (runs again).

Back on form with a 6f Wolverhampton win in July. Just as good when narrowly denied at Chester (6f, good) since. Same mark today.

Useful 5f winner at 2 yrs for Richard Fahey. Tumbled in weights after a string of below-par efforts to start 2026 and back on form in a first-time tongue tie (retained) when seeing off 10 rivals at Haydock (5f, heavy) a fortnight ago. 5 lb penalty but remains well treated on peak form.

Back to winning ways in first-time cheekpieces over C&D (firm) in July. Another fine effort in the new headgear when third at his beloved Hamilton next time but his run of good form came to a halt at Thirsk since. Third in this race in 2023.

Gained reward for some good efforts since handicapping when taking a 6f event at Newbury (good to soft) in June. Made an encouraging return from a mid-season break when fourth of 14 at Haydock (6f, heavy) a fortnight ago. On the shortlist.

Ended a fine 2025 campaign with a win in this race on soft ground under Danny Tudhope. Hasn't fared anywhere near as well this year, including last of 10 at Doncaster on Sunday, but dangerous to dismiss with Tudhope back on board for the first time since last year's success.

Finally stopped the slide when opening her account for the season in 8-runner handicap at Newmarket (6f, good to firm) last month. Backed that up when fourth at Salisbury 15 days ago but carries a 5 lb penalty for the Newmarket win so isn't obviously well handicapped.

Came good for new yard in 26-runner handicap at Glorious Goodwood and improved further to follow up at Redcar 10 days later (both 6f, good to firm). Latest 7f Epsom third probably shouldn't be used as evidence that the handicapper has got him as being dropped out in a steadily-run race wasn't ideal.

Dual all-weather winner for other yards and gained a first turf success over 6f at Hamilton (good) 4 weeks ago, just his second outing for Linda Perratt. A 5 lb penalty demands more, though.

Won over C&D (good to firm; has also won on heavy) in July but has gone off the boil since. Needs a return to Ayr to spark a revival.

Finally gained reward for several creditable efforts when winning at Salisbury in June. Wasn't at her best back there last time, though. Others are more persuasive.

Scored twice (including C&D) in 2025 campaign that also saw him post several good efforts in big-field handicaps. Creditable third to Manila Scouse and Territorial Knight back here in July and there was enough in his recent Ripon fifth to think he's still in form.

Endured a winless 2025 but mark eased as a result and he bettered his 2 previous efforts this year when ending the drought at Musselburgh (5f, good to firm) in July. Backed it up when second of 9 at Beverley (5f, heavy) 3 weeks ago. All wins have come over the minimum trip.

Plenty of good efforts last season, including fifth in this race on soft. Another good effort over C&D when runner-up on good to firm in July. Latest Haydock effort can be forgiven as he was on the wrong part of the track.

Dual winner last term who resumed his progress when narrowly taking 6f handicap at Ripon in May. Hasn't troubled the judge since but left impression he should have finished closer (not clear run final 100 yds) when eighth of 15 at York (7f) 12 days ago. First-time cheekpieces added to tongue tie.

Has yet to fire this season but has dipped to 5 lb below the mark from which he was third in the Silver Cup (on soft) and won at Ripon last September. Worth chancing in the hope that refitting of headgear (first-time blinkers) sparks a return to form.
